Stress symptoms led Pernille to have her gut bacteria analyzed.
Pernille is 40 years old and has two children. She is a marketing manager and also a certified fitness instructor. She lives what you would call a healthy life with a varied diet and lots of exercise. When her stools became completely liquid over a long period of time a few years ago, she became concerned. She wanted answers as to whether something was wrong, even though she herself was pretty sure that it could be due to stress.
“It was just hard to get it all together at the time, so I could feel some mild stress symptoms. I didn't think it was anything serious, as I do everything I can to live a healthy life in my everyday life. That's why it was nice for me to get a status on my gut bacteria and what I could do to benefit my gut health,” she explains. She therefore chose to have her gut flora analyzed.
In Pernille's busy life, it can be difficult to find time to visit a doctor and get a referral to a specialist. That's why she was incredibly relieved when she discovered the Unseen Bio test kit, which examines the condition of your intestines. You can even get 30 minutes of help from a dietitian who will review the test results and recommendations.
A unique technology in rapid development
Unseen Bio is a new company in Denmark that can analyze and map the bacteria in your gut, and tell you about the state of your gut health. Many people are not aware that the gut can tell you a lot about how your lifestyle affects you. That way you can find out if you are eating the right diet, as it is very individual and varies from person to person.
"The technology is relatively new, and it is developing rapidly. We are constantly getting better and more precise in helping each customer with individual data analysis and personalized nutrition, so that we can contribute to improving the health of the individual to a greater extent. However, it is important to say that we do not make diagnoses," says Johan B. Hartmann from Unseen Bio.
Why is a carrot healthy?
It was therefore obvious for Pernille to have her gut microbiome analyzed to find out if she could change anything in her diet to optimize her health.
“I've tried different diets like the Stone Age diet and vegan food, but I don't want it to be so drastic. It would simply be too difficult in everyday life. Especially with two children.”
So she had a test done, and fortunately it turned out that she had a pretty sensible lifestyle with diet and exercise - keeping her bowels active is also good for her. However, it gave her some peace of mind knowing that she was doing the "right thing," she says.
“I think it’s really exciting that you can measure and map out how we can change our overall health by changing some things in our diet. So I think I’ll have to do a new analysis at a later date to see what direction it’s going in compared to before.”
