Unseen Bio - for a healthy gut and a better future
Unseen Bio ApS is a Danish health-tech company founded in 2018 by Johan Hartmann and Jens Gandløse with a clear vision: to raise awareness of gut health as a key to preventing disease and improving people's quality of life.
With a passion for innovation and a strong scientific foundation, we developed a consumer-focused microbiome test that provides insights into gut health. Although the initial ambition was to bring the test to market within six months, it required extensive research and development to create a product that met our high standards. In 2021, we launched our first microbiome test, and today our tests are used across Europe with results delivered to more than 20 countries.
Behind Unseen Bio is an international team of specialists in bioinformatics, nutrition, bioengineering and software development. With five nationalities represented, we work interdisciplinary to translate complex science into usable solutions that benefit both consumers and businesses.
In addition to our direct-to-consumer solutions, we also partner with food and supplement manufacturers who want to leverage microbiome data to develop even better products. Through our microbiome analyses, we help companies understand how their products impact the gut flora and how they can be optimized to support a healthy microbiota.
At Unseen Bio, we believe that a deeper understanding of the microbiome can create a healthier future for everyone.

The stock exchange
Look your shit in the eye, say the biohackers. A swab of stool can hold 3.3 GB of data about your gut health.
A swab of stool can store 3.3 GB of data on what bacteria live inside you. Now you can do a test at home in the bathroom, but is it worth the effort?

The biodiversity crisis also exists in our own gut
Too much processed food, sugar and alcohol means that just like on the outside,
world, there is a biodiversity crisis within ourselves, namely in our intestines. Here too, there is
there is a lack of a varied and diverse ecosystem and this can have major consequences
for our health. A Danish-developed product now makes it possible to measure your intestinal
biodiversity, so that a change in diet and lifestyle can trigger the necessary 'rewilding'
of the intestine.
